The so-called "Y2k bug" relates to the way computers deal with dates.
The bug is a legacy of some older computer systems, which needed to
minimise storage space and did so by not storing the century part of
dates, assuming that all dates fell into the 1900s.
- ShareFinder 5 is designed to be year 2000-compliant.
ShareFinder was specifically designed and tested to handle all dates
from January 1, 1900 at least up to December 31, 2099,
including the correct calculation of leap years where applicable.
- ShareFinder uses four-digit dates for internal processing.
In some cases the display of date information is controlled by the
Windows operating system. Depending on Windows' regional settings, dates
may be displayed with only two-digit years. This does not affect
ShareFinder's internal processes, which always use the full four-digit
year.
Compliance in Other ShareFinder Products
Our older ShareFinder products, including ShareFinder 2, ShareFinder
3 and the ShareFinder for Windows range, are NOT Y2k compliant, mainly
due to user interface issues. It is recommended that you upgrade before the end of 1999.
