Special upgrade options are available for owners of our older ShareFinder products, including ShareFinder 2, ShareFinder 3 and the ShareFinder for Windows range.

Trader Component

Owners of the ShareFinder 3 add-on for ShareFinder 2 are entitled to the Trader component free of charge, but a handling charge is levied for the upgrade of ShareFinder 2.

Portfolio Manager

ShareFinder 2 program owners are entitled to the Portfolio Manager component free of charge.

Charting Component

ShareFinder 2 program owners will be entitled to the Charting component free of charge when it becomes available. This is to compensate for the lack of graphing and charting features in the ShareFinder Starter.

Converting a ShareFinder 2 Database

It is not possible to convert an existing ShareFinder 2 database into the format used by ShareFinder 5. We supply a new historical database to match your choice of data provider with each new program purchased.

What to do with your old ShareFinder program

You may continue using your ShareFinder 2 program and add-ons for as long as you like after upgrading to ShareFinder 4. This is possible because the two programs work independently of each other, maintaining separate databases.

However, doing this will require that you update each program separately, using INDS for ShareFinder 2 and your chosen data provider for ShareFinder 4. Bear in mind that ShareFinder 2 has Year-2000 issues that will likely prevent it from operating correctly after December 31, 1999.

If you have no further use for your older ShareFinder programs, you may delete them to recover the disk space they occupied. Do not do this if you have portfolios that you wish to keep!
