Warning! If you have ShareFinder Professional or have purchased our extended database, DO NOT attempt to update your database by downloading the ShareFinder with the database install file. The install file contains 2½ years of data only which cannot be merged into you existing database. Using the install file will overwrite your existing database. If you wish to download a new database, you can download the 2½ year or 5 year database only file which is towards the bottom of the download list.

You need to do the following once before you start ShareFinder under Microsoft Vista/Windows 7: In your normal Windows Vista/Windows 7 login account, right click on the ShareFinder shortcut, click on Properties, click Compatability, then tick the box that says "Run this program as an administrator". Now when you start ShareFinder normally from the same shortcut it will automatically run as administrator. This is required for ShareFinder to work on Windows Vista and Windows 7.

This database includes a preconfigured version of Sharenet's Download Utility, SNETDN, which is used to retrieve the latest share prices from Sharenet's Internet server. This utility may also be downloaded separately from Sharenet, but then you will have to configure it yourself. |
Hint: You can refresh your database at any time by downloading a new historical database from here and installing it over the old database. Doing so will correct any missing information or problems, especially corruption that might have been caused by a crash or power failure. This, however, is not advisable if you have our extended database, as you will be left with a signifcantly reduced database.
